Information Clause for Candidates for First- and Second-Cycle Studies and Postgraduate Studies
Pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, OJ EU L 119/1 of 04.05.2016), Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology hereby informs you that:
1. The controller of your personal data is Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology. You may contact the controller by post at Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology, Al. Prof. Sylwestra Kaliskiego 7, 85-796 Bydgoszcz, Poland.
2. The University has appointed a Data Protection Officer – email address: iod@pbs.edu.pl.
3. Your identification, address, and contact data will be processed for the purpose of conducting the recruitment procedure for studies and used for statistical and archiving purposes.
4. The legal basis for processing your personal data is the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended), and the implementing regulations issued on its basis, as well as the Statute of Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology and the internal regulations issued under it, pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR – processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject.
5. Your personal data will only be shared with entities authorized to receive personal data under the law, as well as entities responsible for mail delivery and payment services.
6. Authorized employees or associates of Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology, including members of admission committees, will have access to your personal data in connection with the recruitment process.
7. The recipients of your data may also include entities commissioned by the controller to perform certain activities requiring the processing of personal data. In such cases, a data processing agreement will be signed with these entities.
8. Your personal data will not be transferred to a third country or an international organization.
9. The provision of your personal data is a legal requirement. If you do not provide your data, you will not be able to participate in the recruitment process.
10. Your personal data will be processed for a period of 6 months after the completion of the recruitment process.
11. You have the right to request access to your personal data, the right to rectify, transfer, delete, or restrict its processing, as well as the right to object to its processing, provided other legal provisions do not require the processing.
12. Your data will be processed in an automated manner; however, decisions regarding admission will not be made automatically.
13. You have the right to complain to the supervisory authority – the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland.
